Overview

Le Saucier - PACC is a unique culinary destination nestled within the heart of Lasalle, Quebec, at 8310 George St. This restaurant operates as a training ground for aspiring chefs and hospitality students, offering patrons an authentic taste of culinary education in action. The setting is modest, reflecting its location inside a culinary school rather than a traditional restaurant, which sets clear expectations around atmosphere. However, this simplicity allows the focus to rest squarely on the quality and creativity of the dishes.

The menu showcases a variety of well-prepared options, with particular attention drawn to their desserts. The Chocolate Yule Log Cake and Chocolate Mousse are standout highlights, beloved not only by regular patrons but also noted for their distinctive flavors like haskap ganache and brown butter chantilly—unique touches developed through baking courses. These desserts offer a delightful end to a meal and are also available for special occasions, as seen in positive feedback from customers bringing the cake to office celebrations.

Main dishes such as pasta and steak have also received praise, often described as exceeding the standards commonly found in Montreal’s restaurant scene. Though the selection may be limited in terms of vegetarian mains, guests can enjoy an assortment of fresh salads, sides, and bakery goods that complement the meal well. The hands-on experience of dining here provides more than just food; it supports the growth of future culinary professionals, which resonates with a community-minded audience.

While the service may at times feel a little slow, it remains courteous and adds to the overall learning atmosphere rather than detracting from it. The small, intimate space is best suited for those who appreciate a casual yet rewarding dining experience, and the challenge of securing a reservation speaks to the growing popularity and trust in this establishment.

Le Saucier - PACC caters primarily to food enthusiasts interested in supporting hospitality trainees, budget-conscious diners seeking quality meals, and those who treasure bakery craftsmanship at an accessible price point. The restaurant’s irregular schedule and limited seating underscore its educational mission but also create a sense of discovery for visitors able to time their visits just right.

In summary, Le Saucier - PACC delivers a distinctive blend of culinary training and tasty, thoughtfully prepared dishes that rise well above expectations. It is a place where the spirit of learning and passion for food meld seamlessly into approachable, gratifying meals perfect for those eager to enjoy a genuine slice of Montreal’s evolving food culture.

It was good. It’s a restaurant in a school, so don’t expect dinner at the Ritz, when it comes to the atmosphere, but the food was really quite good, and the service was fine.

It's a small restaurant in culinary school, very difficult to reserve a table. Meals are prepared by students with very affordable price. We had pasta and steak last night, both were unexpecting well cooked, I would say it's over average level of Montreal's restaurants. Services were a little slow but acceptable. We will definitely come back!

Good to support these hospitality trainees and get a good meal out of it. There were no vegetarian mains when I visited but I did eat well filling up with salads, sides, and desserts.

I love coming here for desserts. They’re much cheaper than the grocery and you can find cool leftovers from the baking courses like haskap ganache and brown butter chantilly. I bought a chocolate Yule log cake for my workplace Christmas party and it’s delicious.

I just discovered they are selling some food prepared on site by the students. I especially loved being able to get good quality bakery products with an economical price. The only downside is they don't have a regular schedule.

This review pertains only to the boutique. As a 15+ year patron of the boutique, I've noticed a disproportionate increase in pricing and decrease in selection since its major renovation. Do the Pearson students get a discount? If you wish to maintain customer loyalty and higher pricing, why not pre-sell online? I would rather go to pick up a confirmed order rather than taking my chances on availability.
